ok2b closed on 25th April 2013. In the coming months, the links we had on our website for other anti-stigma projects across the world will be added to the Mental Health Foundation website - http://www.mentalhealth.org.uk.

We have donated our remaining funds to another charity (Mental Health Foundation). The world has moved on since we established ok2b in a void in 2005 (indeed ok2b was the first mental health charity in England to be formed with objectives of challenging stigma and discrimination), but we judge that now it is time for us to step aside, and let the significant Government and lottery-backed national projects which have been developed in recent years to take the cause forward. Time to Change has already run for three years (£18 million) and has secured Department of Health funding for another 3 years (£15 million). Anti-stigma messages are also now strongly written into the government’s new mental health strategy and newspaper coverage is (albeit slowly) getting better. ok2b has played a real part by helping to kick-start that agenda, and being a catalyst for change, not least with the Hackney Empire event that demonstrated celebrities were willing to support mental health, and our recent media project.
